Course Meeting Agenda for Course Leader:

• Frequency: Once per Unit (ideally, 1 week before end of previous unit)

• Time: 45 min – 1 hr

• Questions regarding upcoming Unit assessment(s) and assignments

• Review the upcoming Unit

• Filename format: year-course-unit-assessment-unitLeader-version

  • example: 2014-Geometry-G5-Quiz1-Easley-verB.doc

 

Analysis of upcoming Unit Assessments by 1 or 2 course teachers:

1. Matching of existing items to standards listed on assessment(s).
2. Separation of “fluency” items (time-restricted) from “PARCC-style” items (time-recommendation)
3. Discuss changes and accommodations and/or adjustments to assessments
   • Adding items for missing standards
   • Removing non-aligned items
   • Adjust length for time for assessment
   • Alternate versions (i.e. version B, ver C, etc.)

 

Analysis of upcoming Unit Assignments by 1 or 2 course teachers:

1. Provide PARCC-style “bell ringers”
2. Provide questions to add to/replace current student assignments
   • 1-2 fluency items
   • 1-2 PARCC-style items
   • Note: not necessary for every assignment, but for the majority

 

Discuss standards for the following Unit

1. Give overview of standards
2. Discuss desired outcomes and how to accurately assess
3. Assign Course Teacher(s) to Unit.
