* "Ready for College" is a description for students who score at least a 22 (out of 36) on the ACT mathematics test as determined by the ACT company. Introduced in 2013 in Illinois. ** "Meeting & Exceding Expectations" -- a descriptor based on PSAE scores and set by Illinois educators' expectations of student's ability to demonstrate achieving math standards. |
The information come from the following organizations:
- Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) - responsible for the state-wide testing (PARCC) of student's abilities with regards to the Illinois Standards for Mathematics (historically referred to as the Common Core State Standards).
- The College Board - responsible for the Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum/exams and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) exams. The exams are optional and serve as an indicator for student completion of college-level academics in the approved & listed courses.
- ACT - A national organization and exam offered to students in their Junior year that is an indicator of their academic preparedness for college.
